Demolition Complete
By sheer coincidence, I found myself running an errand just as the demolition project was reaching its conclusion.
I made a quick stop to snap some last-minute photos, just in time to witness the dramatic collapse of the final set of bricks — the last portion of the kitchen. The kitchen where generations of Senior Citizens prepared sandwiches and creamed scones over many decades, and where groups of Girl Guides cooked pancakes and s’mores.
Over the past few weeks, I’ve made a habit of wandering down to the Senior Citizens hall each morning before work to monitor the progress of the demolition project. Check out the details and the progress photos.
Hopefully, construction of the replacement community hub will commence soon, and the photos will be of a much brighter scene. We look forward to a future of community gatherings and shared experiences.
Going, Going, Gone.
